A brief history of our team below with video of all of our fights
2011-2012
Crazy 88. Libra Industries partnered up with Lake Shore Compact for our first ever team and robot. It was mostly built from a kit and we added on a spinning drum style spiked weapon. We did fairly well finishing in the top 5.

2012-2013
Grim Reaper. Our first fully custom robot build. We went with drum spikes again with great drivability. Perforated “armor” got easily tore off and the high front end caused the bot to get flung around the cage.

2013-2014
T.O.A.S.T.E.R. Total Obliteration And Systematically Trashing Every Robot. The LSC teacher retired so Libra Industries moved to partner with our local Mentor High School for the first time. The name and the logo were really cool, however the robot itself was plagued with a lot of issues and a weak aluminum weapon.

2014-2015
Colossus. Great drivability and severe weapon impacts. However we used weak steel and didn’t know about proper heat treating leading to extreme weapon failure.
14:30 mark
2015-2016
Nightfall. Great drivability again but still were learning about heat treating and sharp corners in a weapon. Epic weapon failures.
11:05 mark
2016-2017
Cobalt. Switched to 2wd to save weight but still haven’t learned our lesson in proper heat treat and sharp weapon corners. Once again epic weapon failures
6:38 mark
2017-2018
Xenos. Figuring if we just make our weapon a solid block it can’t possibly break. We were wrong again but it did hold up better and had a good fight or two.
24:17 mark
2018-2019
Element 119. Bot probably took a step backwards and we still hadn’t learned about heat treating and sharp corners. Weapon and overall failures again.

2021-2022
Buttercup. Coming back from a covid layoff we had a brand new team and new faces helping out. We built our best bot to date and won the regional tournament! We went to our first nationals tournament and experienced high level combat robotics for the first time going 0-2
2022-2023
Buttercup 2.0. Complete redesign from the ground up. Finally, after years of failure, we learned proper heat treating and curved corners! We had a rough second fight at regionals and never recovered going 1-2. We went to nationals and did much better going 3-2 and showing we can fight with the best!
2023-2024
Nort. Complete redesign from the ground up again to incorporate 4WD. We did great in our regional competition but came up a little short against our nemesis, A-Tech, and got second place. We had our best showing at Nationals going 4-2 and only lost due to bad batteries.
